StudioMōr exists to support outdoor experiences through planting design.

We work as an extension of a team - an extra pair of hands brought in to focus on planting when time, workload, or expertise is stretched on a project. By specialising exclusively in planting design, we help clients move projects forward efficiently, without the need to employ additional staff or commit beyond what a project requires.

Our studio is home based and intentionally small. This allows us to work flexibly, respond to busy periods, and offer a service that is both considered and cost effective for our clients. We can be brought in at any stage of a project, whether early in the design process or closer to delivery.

We work on gardens of all scales, across both rural and urban settings. The experience gained by moving between different sized gardens and varied landscapes strengthens the way we design, and each project informs the next.

Our planting design service can be delivered in our own studio style or under a client’s name - our focus is on supporting the project and strengthening the overall outcome, not competing for authorship.

At the heart of the studio is a belief in the value of time spent outside. We are passionate about planting, nature, and the way gardens enrich daily life - socially, mentally, and emotionally. Good planting encourages people to step outdoors, notice seasonal change, and to build a deeper connection with their surroundings.

StudioMōr doesn’t replace what others do. We exist to complement it.

StudioMōr is led by Joy and Claudia, planting designers based in the Yorkshire Dales.

Trained at the Yorkshire School of Garden Design, our practice is rooted in landscape observation, seasonal change, and a shared belief in planting as a means of encouraging people to spend time outdoors.

Our work is shaped by extensive exposure to world-class designers and gardens in the UK and abroad, and by a deep interest in how planting responds to light, structure, and place.
