StudioMōr works with homeowners who value planting as an essential part of a beautiful, well considered garden.
Whether you are planting a newly landscaped space or refreshing an established garden that has lost its direction, we bring clarity, structure, and purpose to your planting. Our role is to create planting schemes that feel cohesive, considered, and appropriate to both the garden and its setting.
This service is well suited if you:
Want to transform neglected or underperforming areas of your garden
Are planting a newly created space
Have inherited a mature garden that would benefit from editing and renewal
Wish to introduce elements such as kitchen gardens or cut-flower beds
How Our Planting Design Service Works
Our planting design service is typically delivered in two stages, allowing you to engage us at the level that best suits your project.
The Plant Book
A concept led guide that sets the direction for your planting. It includes moodboards, planting themes, and a curated list of named plants, providing clarity and inspiration for your garden. The Plant Book can be used as a standalone service, offering specialist planting advice in a cost-effective and flexible way.
The Planting Design Book
This is a detailed, technical planting plan, produced for accurate installation. This document is used by a landscaping contractor to position and install plants correctly and includes the information required to deliver the design on site.
Whether you are seeking planting inspiration or a fully resolved technical planting plan, our service is tailored to guide your project from concept through to installation.
Planting Guides & Digital Resources
For those looking for guidance without a bespoke design service, we also offer a growing collection of downloadable planting guides through our Shop.
These guides are designed to support common garden situations and planting styles. Each guide provides clear, considered planting advice that can be applied independently or used as a starting point before engaging us for a tailored design.
The Shop offers an accessible way to benefit from our planting expertise, whether you are working on a smaller area, testing ideas, or seeking inspiration at your own pace.

StudioMōr is brought into projects in a number of ways, depending on the needs of each client and the stage of the work.
We work directly with private clients who require planting design input for new gardens, redevelopments, or existing spaces that need greater clarity and cohesion. We also support professional teams, working as an extension of the design process to focus specifically on planting.
Our involvement can begin early in a project or later on, once levels, layouts, or hard landscaping are established. In each case, our role is to develop planting schemes that feel cohesive, considered, and appropriate to both the garden and its setting.
If you’d like to explore working together, please get in touch to discuss your project.

What do you do exactly?
We specialise exclusively in planting design. We create considered planting schemes that bring structure, seasonal interest, and longevity to your garden, whether newly designed or existing.Do you design whole gardens?
No, we focus on the planting only. Collaboration is central to our work and we often work alongside Garden Designers, Landscapers or Architects to deliver the design of a new garden. Can you work with my existing garden?
Yes. We regularly work with established gardens that benefit from a planting refresh or a stronger planting framework. Often, our clients don’t need a full redesign to benefit from specialist planting design as thoughtful planting alone can transform a garden. For established gardens, we can work alongside your existing gardening team to edit and refresh beds.Do you work on small gardens?
Yes. We work on gardens of all scales, from compact urban spaces to large rural settings. Different scales inform and strengthen our approach. Will you visit the site?
Site visits are arranged where appropriate. Some projects can be developed remotely with sufficient information.Do you supply plants?
Depending on the size and nature of the project, we can supply plants directly. Where we are not able to source the plants directly, we can advise on sourcing, availability, and suitable nurseries. Often, a Landscaper or Contractor will source the plants for you.Do you offer ongoing support after planting?
Where required, we can provide follow up advice as planting establishes and evolves. What information do you need to begin?
Typically we require plant bed sizes, a layout plan and photos of your garden. Where appropriate, we can help you with obtaining the plant bed sizes and layout.Do you work remotely?
